Ukraine Independence Day at Darwin Sailing Club 2025

Celebrating freedom, culture, and community

On Sunday, 24 August 2025, Ukrainians and friends gathered at Darwin Sailing Club to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's renewed independence.

Ukraine Independence Day is both a celebration and a promise: to value the freedom restored in 1991, to remember the generations who worked for an independent state, and to stand with the people defending that freedom today.

For the Ukrainian community in Darwin, gathering on the waterfront created an opportunity to share this important day with family, friends, and supporters. It was a time to honour Ukrainian identity, strengthen community connections, and ensure that our culture remains visible and alive in the Northern Territory.
