3 Years of Strength and Resistance

About this event

On 23 February 2025, Darwin's Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine gathered ahead of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.

The occasion offered time to reflect on three difficult years of war, recognise the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people, and reaffirm continuing support for Ukraine. It was also a reminder that Ukrainians are not alone, even when living far from home.

Why it mattered

Anniversaries like this are more than dates on a calendar. They draw attention to the lives lost and changed by the war, Ukraine's continuing struggle, and the international community's responsibility to maintain its support.
