On March 7, 2025, the Latvian Association of Darwin Inc. and the Ukrainian-Australian Association of the NT Inc. (UAANT) united the Northern Territory community for a powerful gathering at Parliament House, Darwin. This event served as a strong message of solidarity with Ukraine, reinforcing our commitment to freedom, democracy, and justice.

A United Front Against War and Aggression

The gathering brought together Australians, Ukrainians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Estonians, and supporters from diverse backgrounds. It was a moving display of unity, proving that the world is watching and that we will not be silent in the face of injustice.

The key messages of the event were clear:🛑 Stop Putin’s escalation – this is not democracy!🌍 The world is watching – war crimes are seen!🕊 Stop the war, stop the lies, stop turning death into business!

On February 25, 2025, members of the Ukrainian-Australian Association of Northern Territory (UAANT) had the honor of attending a special gathering at Parliament House to mark the beginning of Orthodox Great Lent 2025. The event was hosted by Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro MLA and brought together members of the Orthodox community to reflect on the spiritual significance of this sacred time.

A Gathering of Faith and Community

The evening was a symbol of unity, where people of different backgrounds came together to celebrate faith, culture, and resilience. It was a privilege to meet the Chief Minister, express our gratitude for the continued support of the Orthodox community, and acknowledge the importance of spiritual and cultural inclusivity in the Northern Territory.

The Meaning of Great Lent

Great Lent is a time of deep reflection, prayer, and renewal. It is a journey of spiritual discipline, self-examination, and preparation for Easter. For Orthodox Christians, this period represents an opportunity to strengthen faith, seek peace, and foster compassion towards others.

A Message of Gratitude

We extend our sincere thanks to the NT Government for promoting diversity and ensuring that all communities feel welcome and supported. We are also grateful to everyone who attended, making this event even more meaningful.

On February 24, 2025, the Ukrainian-Australian Association of Northern Territory (UAANT) hosted a special gathering to mark three years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It was an emotional and powerful event, bringing together the local community, Ukrainian refugees, and supporters to reflect on the past, honor the resilience of the Ukrainian people, and reinforce our commitment to supporting Ukraine.

A Day of Unity and Reflection

The event was filled with heartfelt moments as attendees shared stories, paid tribute to those affected by the war, and expressed their unwavering solidarity. The gathering included:

🕯 A moment of silence in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in the fight for Ukraine’s freedom.

💬 Speeches and testimonials from Ukrainian refugees, community leaders, and supporters, highlighting the ongoing challenges and victories.
